INZINGA

Once there was a horse so tan
with vigour and valour can,
On the plateaus of the Drakensberg
No-one's horse, but everyone's wish
Property of the State
and in its service much to accomplish

A service Inzinga rendered without hesitation
Every ride without condemnation
A small horse in stature
But what a fine creature!

Every time in the mountains
well ahead of the rest
Every pace a fine compilation
of stride and calculation
Reacting instantaneously to the rider's prompting

Inzinga runs courageously –
under direction trotting

Never a swifter horse than Inzinga of the Drakensberg.
